About

The Blog:

This blog was created in 2011, mostly to post snippets of writing. It slowly evolved into a book blog, though considering I was around 14 years old, there was nothing substantial. Honestly, the archive is full of embarrassing posts and reviews that really should be deleted. As I became more involved with the community, I grew to really love book blogging but struggled to find the time. Megan became my coblogger in mid 2012, but by the end of the year we both found that we couldn't commit to it any longer. Fast forward to 2015, and I've found my way back. Reviews are probably the most common posts you'd find on my blog (and the posts I read most often on other blogs), but I've been putting an effort into branching out more and trying to be more creative. As it turns out, I am not a very creative person.

The Blogger:

Zoey

I live in the grand old state of Wisconsin. I'm a college student studying Zoology with a particular interest in behavioral differences of lemurs in captivity and the wild and currently work in a lab with rhesus macaques. Reading and blogging are just the kind of hobbies that I've missed. Future plans include a Norwegian Forest Cat (or 4), Seattle, and loving YA books even when I'm 40. Favorite things include cats, candles, and coffee. (Zoey is not actually my real name but it might as well be.) I use way too many adverbs.

A vast majority of my reading is YA. I would say fantasy is my favorite genre but I LOVE science fiction and have recently started to get into contemporaries a lot more. I occassionally read NA but have yet to find any that I really love the way that I love The Raven Cycle, Six of Crows, and Anna and the French Kiss. Other favorites include Illuminae, any Sarah Ockler book (but especially The Summer of Chasing Mermaids), The Lunar Chronicles, and the Newsouls series by Jodi Meadows. I'm more attracted to characters than plot, especially when it comes to TV, but I can't stand a book without a plot. Favorite TV shows include The 100, Game of Thrones, Grey's Anatomy, and I will talk to you about LOST for 10 hours if you let me.
