The Sunday Post is hosted at the Caffeinated Book Reviewer, intended to recap the past week and share upcoming news! |
Anyway. It's been an exciting week! Especially, you know, since I came back from a two year hiatus.
The Orphan Queen by Jodi Meadows
Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
Throne of Glass by Sarah J Mass
For Review:
Angelfall by Susan Ee
Bomb by Sarah Mussi
When You Leave by Monica Ropal
Moonlands by Steven Savile
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers!
Cold Burn of Magic by Jennifer Estep - for the blog tour!
Thanks to Netgalley and Patricia and Anasheh at The Fantastic Flying Book Club!
Awakening by Shannon Duffy
Won this one in a Twitter contest. Thanks to Heather Riccio!
These should definitely keep me busy for awhile. I wanted to stock up a little bit before heading back to school so I could just focus on reading and reviewing. I am, of course, most excited for The Orphan Queen. I think I've been a Jodi Meadows fan since I was 15. (And incredibly embarrassing.) And I can't wait to get to Cold Burn of Magic - Jennifer Estep is always so fun!
- I started blogging again! I don't know about you, but I'd say that's pretty exciting.
- Review of Blue Lily, Lily Blue. One of my favorite series on the planet!
- International Giveaway: Any YA novel under $16USD! Don't forget to enter!
- Review of Bomb by Sarah Mussi. I, personally, was not a fan.
- On Tuesday, we talked about our top ten books on our spring TBR list! Lots of things on there that I'm practically jumping in anticipation for.
- Discussion of secondary characters. I'd still love to hear your opinions on this! If you can even make sense of it.
- Currently reading Red Queen. Trying to wait until I finish it to start The Orphan Queen, but I'm weak.
- Had to mark When You Leave as a dnf. You can read why here.
- I got a job! For summer. At a grocery store. So it doesn't really matter now, since I'll be back at school, but they were nice enough to hire me before all the jobs are gone!
- I reached out to Hazel at Stay Bookish about a new blog design! There will be cats involved. Look out for a new design in late May/early June!
- I, unfortunately, head back to school. Write a history paper. Study endless hours of Chemistry. Cry a lot.
- A list of the top ten books I'd like to revisit. (I can tell you that this list could probably be 25 books long. It's gonna be hard to trim it down.)
- Review of Red Queen! Currently a little less than halfway through and have no idea how I feel.
- A Discussion post (this is a subjective term....people actually have to say things for it to be classified as a discussion) about travel in novels!
Welcome to The sunday post ;) From what I read on the net, the weather is simply not great everywhere - here included. I hope you love The throne of glass - if you do, try and read The assassin's blade (a collection of novellas) before you read Crown of midnight. You don't have to, but it helps ;) Have a great week !
ReplyDeleteI didn't even know that that collection existed, so thanks for letting me know! I will definitely try to read that once I finish Throne of Glass.
DeleteWow you got some great books. I really need to read Angelfall it's supposed to be amazing. New Follower happy reading.

Aw, yay, welcome back to blogging! I have also contacted Hazel about a design, and I am SO EXCITED. I will be looking forward to seeing yours too, she does such great work!
ReplyDeleteAnd you got a lot of great books! I just finished Throne of Glass (it was GOOD- I ordered the next book halfway through haha) and really want to read Red Queen and Orphan Queen. And Angelfall is SO good, I really hope you enjoy it!

Welcome back to blogging, Zoey! :) You got some amazing books to talk about in your return and I hope you enjoy all of them (although I know what you think of Bomb now, heh). I'm weak when it comes to books I anticipate, too, so your reading two books at a time is very understandable :P Looking forward to next weeks's post! :)

Great haul! I really enjoyed RED QUEEN, a lot! I can't wait to read book two next year!! And THRONE OF GLASS was amazing too!! I hope you enjoy all your new goodies this week!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my STS @ Addicted Readers!! :)
I would definitely say that coming back to the blogging world is a HUGE thing. Welcome back! I just recently read Throne of Glass (last week) and I'm currently halfway through the third book. They are so addicting. I'm going to cry when it ends and I have to wait until the next book is released.
ReplyDeleteI LOVED all the three of your fantasies there, I hope you do too. I loved Angelfall AND the Raven Cycle is one of my favorite series ever. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI love your haul! I'm pretty excited to read Throne of Glass, Red Queen and The Orphan Queen as well! I'm hoping I could get at least one from those on my next book store trip. :D
ReplyDeleteThat's great that you're getting back into blogging. I've been on (a much shorter ;P) hiatus since the fall. Life can get a bit crazy sometimes.
ReplyDeleteGreat haul! :D Ah, the Red Queen...I must read. I haven't read anything by Sarah J. Mass, but I've heard good things about them. Enjoy!
