Waiting on Wednesday {12}

1.25.2012
"Waiting on Wednesday " is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

The Treachery of Beautiful Things by Ruth Frances Long
Expected publication: August 16th 2012 by Dial Books

The trees swallowed her brother whole. And Jenny was there to see it. Years later, when she returns to the woods where Tom was taken to say good-bye at last, she finds herself lured into a world where stunning beauty masks the most treacherous of evils, and strange and dangerous creatures await—creatures who seem to consider her the threat. Among them is Jack, mercurial and magnetic, with allegiances that shift as much as his moods. Determined to find her brother, with or without Jack’s help, Jenny struggles to navigate a faerie world where nothing is what it seems, no one is who they say, and she’s faced with a choice between salvation or sacrifice—and not just her own.

I can say in all honesty that books that center around faeries are my absolute favorite. I don't really know why, but I have yet to find a Fae book I didn't like. This is more than 7 months away, but . . . I shall have it someday T_T

The Calling by Kelley Armstrong
Expected Publication: April 10th, 2012 by HarperTeen

Okay, let's be honest. We had to know this one was coming at some point.
Maya Delaney’s paw-print birthmark is the sign of what she truly is—a skin-walker. She can run faster, climb higher, and see better than nearly anyone else. Experiencing intense connections with the animals that roam the woods outside her home, Maya knows it’s only a matter of time before she’s able to Shift and become one of them. And she believes there may be others in her small town with surprising talents.

Now, Maya and her friends have been forced to flee from their homes during a forest fire they suspect was deliberately set. Then they’re kidnapped, and after a chilling helicopter crash, they find themselves in the Vancouver Island wilderness with nothing but their extraordinary abilities to help them get back home. Plentiful action and romance in this second installment in the Darkness Rising series will keep readers enthralled to the very last page!

I am a die-hard Kelley Amrstrong fan. I have read every single one of her books, and Maya and Rafe are probably my two favorite characters, next to Clay and Elena. The wait for this book has felt longer than any others. But . . . I just have to survive three more months, that's it ;__;

Leave a link and I'll check out your WoW tomorrow when I have my laptop again! ;)

(I apologize for the awkward blockquotes. I dunno what's going on there -_-)
